 New Name, New Logo, New Apparel Sponsor

Guilford United is updating our name and our look for the upcoming 2008/09 season and beyond.  Our new name Guilford United Futbol Club reflects our continued growth in the community and highlights our new commitment to offer our youth an exceptional soccer experience.  With the assistance of our new apparel partner, Under Armour, we created our new GUFC shield logo. 

Under Armour will be our official apparel sponsor for the upcoming season.  Guilford United is the first club in the state of North Carolina to adopt the new UA uniform.  Working closely with the local Omega Sports Stores, Guilford United players can accessorize their uniforms with a wide array of UA attire.

Newly appointed Executive Director, Bill Brady, oversaw this effort to bring about this energizing change.  “In my travels through Europe, Futbol is a vital part of the community from the recreational youth leagues to the Premier matches”, stated Brady. “With our new focus, Guilford United will continue to improve and expand our recreation and select programs in the Triad to vie with the best in the world.”

GUS/GUFC Coaches letter about TCL tournament

I just wanted to let you know some good news from this past weekend. In the Boys U-10 Challenge division GUFC had 4 teams playing Crocodiles, Hammerheads, Xplosion and The Crew. The other GUFC U-10 boys (Hurricanes) team missed the tournament by one seed. The Crocodiles and the Hammerheads played in the A division and the Xplosion and The Crew played in the B division both teams are a Soccer Op U-9 developmental team. In the B division the Championship game was GUFC Xplosion and GUFC The Crew facing off with the Xplosion winning by 2 in a great hard fought game. It was a great conclusion to the TCL season.

The good news is not the amount of teams playing in the U-10 bracket nor the final results of the tournament. The good news is that at each game that was played by the above teams coaches and players from the other U-10 GUFC teams were watching and cheering on each of the GUFC teams. It was a good coming together of the club and as a parent who has an older daughter playing U-13 Classic (we have been with GUS for 3 years) this was the best unity and club building I have experienced. It made me as well as my boys and their parents be proud to be a part of Guilford United.........
